An Islamic institute needed a digital home that treated its purpose with the gravity it deserves — scripture first, ornament earned, nothing loud. We built a site that opens like a manuscript: gold calligraphy writing itself onto parchment, and a verse before any navigation.

The brief
Most religious organisations get websites that look like noticeboards. Al Burhaan wanted the opposite: calm, reverent, beautiful — a site whose restraint communicates as much as its content. And the team had to be able to update departments, programmes and announcements themselves, without touching code.
The build
WordPress runs the content — departments, pages, settings — while every pixel the visitor sees is a hand-built Next.js frontend served globally from Vercel. The signature moment is the opening: the institute’s gold emblem glows on, then Qur’anic calligraphy writes itself across the parchment before the page settles. Slow on purpose. Felt, not seen.

The load-in is the brand: emblem, then verse, then translation — each element arriving in sequence, timed like a page being illuminated. It plays once per visit and never gets in the way of a returning reader.
